In the manufacturing process of electronic products, strict control of ambient air humidity is essential due to the sensitivity of certain raw materials and substrates to moisture, ensuring both product quality and yield rates. Since lithium is one of the most reactive metallic elements in nature and highly sensitive to moisture, when metallic lithium is exposed to outdoor air, it rapidly undergoes an intense redox reaction with atmospheric moisture, releasing hydrogen and oxygen gases—and potentially leading to combustion or even explosions. Moreover, lithium-based salts such as lithium cobalt oxide, commonly used in secondary batteries, are also extremely vulnerable to moisture. Therefore, whether it's a primary lithium battery or a secondary lithium battery, controlling humidity during the manufacturing process is absolutely critical.

The quality of lithium battery production is directly linked to how well humidity is controlled during the manufacturing process. Therefore, lithium battery manufacturers maintain extremely strict humidity control over their core production stages, often keeping the relative humidity in the environment below 1-2% and ensuring the dew point temperature drops to -32°C to -60°C or lower. Silica gel and molecular sieve rotary dehumidifiers typically become indispensable components in their production assurance equipment.
